Shelley Renee Gear, a 44-year-old resident of Humphreys, died on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008 at her home.

The body will be cremated following visitation, which will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008 at the Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Inurement of cremains will be held at a later date at the Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb, IL.
Ms. Gear was born on June 20, 1963 in St. Charles, IL, the daughter of Edwin Ray and Diana Lynn Jones Elting. She grew up in Illinois. She moved to this area in 1994 to be closer to her family. She worked for the past three years at the Women’s Correctional Center in Chillicothe.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Diana and Charles Stephenson of Milan; one son, Joshua Regnier of Rockford, IL; one daughter, Mindy Elting of Gallatin; one grandson, Draven Makki Elting; two brothers, Shawn Elting of Chillicothe and James Elting of Aurora, IL; two sisters, Brandi Cheney of Huntsville and Jamie Damewood of Kirksville; three aunts; two uncles; two nieces; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
