Monice Maxine Averill, 73, died on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008 at the Baptist Memorial Desota County Hospital in Southaven, MS, after a two-month illness of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at the Timothy Episcopal Church in Southaven. The body was cremated and burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Averill was born on Feb. 22, 1937 at Mt. Moriah, the daughter of Lee and Ocie Shepard. She graduated from Mt. Moriah High School.
She was married to Richard Wolfe, whom she later divorced, and was then married to Chuck Averill.
She worked for the IRS in Kansas City and Memphis, TN and for Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Timothy Episcopal Church in Southaven.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck, of the home; one daughter, Dorothy and her husband Stephen, of Hawaii; three sons, Rick Wolfe and his wife, Debra, of Arkansas, David Wolf and his wife, Priscilla, of Horn Lake, MS and Kiven Averill of Southaven; one sister, Verla Harlan of Trenton; three brothers, Roger Cain and his wife, Barbara, of Trenton, Clifford Shepard and his wife, Alice, of Raytown, and Jim Shepard and his wife, Karen, of Graham; and three sisters-in-law, Dena Shepard and Evelyn Shepard of Moline, IL and Beryl Stinson of El Dorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walt Shepard, Charles Shepard and Loren Shepard; and two sisters, Ila Gail Adams and Carmah Kay Smith.
