Jared Ford, 18, and Kanda Ramsbottom, 23, were taken to area hospitals after the vehicle they were in traveled off the south side of the road while westbound, overturning and striking a tree. The Missouri Highway Patrol said the driver, Ford, was operating the vehicle too fast for conditions. Ford and Ms. Ramsbottom were both ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest on its wheels, facing southwest off the south side of the road.
Ford was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center for serious injuries while Ms. Ramsbottom received moderate injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center. The vehicle was demolished.
No summons was issued.
