THS JV Hoops Teams Fall In Gallatin Tournament

The Trenton High School junior varsity basketball teams faced off with South Harrison on Saturday in the first round of the Gallatin JV Bas-ketball Tourn-ament. Both squads suffered losses to South Harrison, sending them to the third-place games of the four-team tournament. The girls fell in a close one, 26-20, while the boys lost 44-15.

Lady Bulldogs
The Lady Bulldogs dropped a close contest to South Harrison. Trenton spent the majority of the game trailing, but never got too far behind. In the end, however, South Harrison was just too much, holding off the Lady Bulldogs for the win.
Kylie Russell was responsible for 14 of the Lady Bulldogs’ 20 points. Trenton also got two points each from Aubrey Utley, Madison Gardner and Taylor Lynch. Utley also provided the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high 10 rebounds.
The JV girls fell to 3-4 on the season with the loss.
Bulldogs
The boys squad stayed competitive with South Harrison in the first half, before dropping off in the second. After one half of play, Trenton trailed just 16-10, But South Harrison went on a tear in the second half, outscoring Trenton 28-5 in the final two quarters.
The Bulldogs struggled from the field, connecting on a very low percentage of their shots. Trenton also commited several unforced turnovers, leading to the big half by South Harrison.
Both squads will be back in action on Saturday as they play for third place at Gallatin.
