Mildred King, a 92-year-old resident of the Gilman City community, died at 5:48 a.m. on Sunday, Jan, 13, 2008 at her residence after an extended illness and her husband Garland King, 94, died at 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan, 14, 2008 at the Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, where he had been a patient since Tuesday Jan. 8, 2008.

Combined funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008 at the Melbourne Baptist Church in Melbourne. Burial will be in the Edinburg IOOF Ceme-tery at Edinburg.
General visitation will begin after noon on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 at the mortuary.
Mrs. King was born on Oct. 19, 1915 near Melbourne, the daughter of Earl and Anna Keith Ratliff. She attended school at Melbourne and on Nov. 3, 1932 she was married to Garland King at Trenton. They farmed in the Edinburg and Brimson communities until moving in 1942 to the farm north of Melbourne, where they continued to farm.
Mr. King was born on June 25, 1913 near Melbourne, the son of Charley Sr. and Fanny Lovell King. He attended Melbourne schools and farmed all his life.
They both belonged to the Melbourne Baptist Church, where Mr. King was a deacon for over 55 years and Mrs. King was the church clerk and Sunday school teacher for many years. She also volunteered at the Gilman City Senior Center for many years.
They are survived by one son, Bill King and his wife, Cheryl, of Gilman City; four daughters, Norma, now Mrs. George Cross of Gilman City, Kathleen Crump of Jamesport, Deanna, now Mrs. Larry Meek of Chillicothe and Joy Ward of Gilman City; a daughter–in-law, Shirley King of Trenton; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mrs. King is also survived by a niece, Sandra Maize of Union Star; and a nephew, Dennis Ratliff of Easton.
Mr. King is also survived by one brother, Charles King Jr. of Trenton; and one sister, Virginia Louderback of Trenton.
They were preceded in death by their parents; a son, Gary King; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. King was also preceded by a brother, Steve Ratliff; and Mr. King was preceded by two brothers, two sisters and two step-mothers, Catherine Mackley King and Mildred Terhune King.
The family has asked that memorials be given to the Melbourne Baptist Church. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
