Lions Club Meets At Lakeview

The Trenton Lions Club met on Tuesday at the Lakeview Restaurant with President Lannie Harkins in charge of the meeting.

Following the pledge to the U.S. flag, Doris Carter led the group in prayer.
It was voted to sponsor up to three players to participate in the All-State Boys Basketball Game. An invitation was received from the Laredo Lions Club to attend the zone meeting at 7 p.m. on Jan. 28. Thank you notes were read from the Philip Sayer family and the Grundy County Senior Center. It was voted to donate a pair of eyeglasses to a deserving person.
Jim Cox was presented a pin in recognition of his becoming a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was pinned by Maurine Fick on behalf of the local Lions Club.
Becky Albrecht will substitute as program chairman on Jan. 29 for John Carter and Bob and Shirley Griener will substitute for the Carters at the bloodmobile on Feb. 4 as the Carters will be going to Texas for up to six weeks.
George Moore served as tailtwister for the meeting. The Jan. 15 program chairman is Chad Davis.
