The Area Governing Board of Green Hills Community Action Agency met Tuesday night at the Central Office in Trenton.
CAA Board Has Meeting
Members approved consent agenda items which included revised budgets for Community Services Block Grant, $629,555; Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, $243,470; Employment & Training Youth/2007, $208,075; In-School, $120,999; and Out-of-School, $61,086; and Domestic Violence Program – Trenton donations, $104,984, Chillicothe Foundation, $23,520, and Chillicothe donations, $153,821.
The Personnel Committee met and reviewed job descriptions and reviewed and approved a revised salary schedule. Governance Committee members reviewed proposed changes to the Agency articles of incorporation noting that a draft would be presented at the next meeting in February.
Executive Director Scott Long and board members Leon Hicks and Irene Jackson reported on their attendance to the Missouri Association for Community Action Conference on Oct. 24-26 at Lake Ozark. Other board members attending included Barbara Oxendale and Bill Magee. Agency staff attending the conference included Long, Deena Smith, Cheri Hardisty, Lora Prewitt, Barbara Spencer, Marvin Meeker and John Stantruff.
Deena Smith and Cheri Hardisty of the Communications and Resource Department presented a final report on the recently completed C.A.R.E. project and Marvin Meeker, Art Heriford, and Mary Garcia presented a report on housing development programs.
Director of Communications Deena Smith presented and the board approved a strategic plan to be in effect for three years (2008-2011) and Tammy Taylor, Community Services Director, presented a Central Missouri Food Bank agreement for the Putnam County outreach office also approved by the board.
Board members approved revised meeting dates as presented and Long announced that the next meeting of the board would be held Tuesday, Feb. 12.
