Hugh Floran Robbins Jr., a 79-year-old resident of Mountain View, died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008 at the Brooke Haven Healthcare in West Plains.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Brother Donald Coache will officiate. Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery, northwest of Princeton.
Open visitation is now under way at the funeral home.
Mr. Robbins was born on Aug. 24, 1928 near Saline in Mercer County, the son of Hugh Floran and Rosa Lee Tuttle Robbins. He was raised on a farm in Mercer County and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. After the war, he farmed and continued his education in the field of electronics. He moved to Indianapolis, IN in the 1960s, working as an electronic technician for the Federal Aviation Agency. He enjoyed farming, growing flowers, fishing and traveling.
He was married on Feb. 7, 1952 to Betty Lee Sparks, who preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 2000. He was married on Nov. 14, 2003 to Millie Fern Carter, who survives of the home in Mountain View.
He is also survived by three daughters and two sons, Anna Marie Garvin and her husband, Mark of Mountain View, Stephen Clair Robbins of Greenwood, IN, David Leon Robbins of Indianapolis, Alice Irene Huff and her husband, Joseph, of Greenwood and Rosemary Renee Robbins of Palatine, IL; nine grandchildren, Christina Beisietel, Hugh Jason, Matthew and Casey Madsen, Andrew Cook, Patrick Muncie, Anthony Robbins and Jonathan and Kristopher Huff; seven great-grandchildren, Cierra, Paul, Jack, Dakota and Saphria Madsen, Skylar Gilbert and Quinton Cook; three brothers, Richard Lee Robbins and his wife, Joyce, of Ottumwa, IA, Paul Ray Robbins and his wife, Mary Jean, of Xenia, OH and John Earl Robbins and his wife, Jerry Ann, of Cainsville; and several other relatives and friends.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and a daughter, Sandra Kay Muncie.
