Taryn Dustman again led the Lady Mustangs, running up a game-high 17 points. Bailey Huston also contributed with a double-double. She scored 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the Lady Mustangs’ win.
With the win, the Lady Mustangs improved to 5-2 overall and advanced their HDC Conference record to 5-1.
Boys
The boys were not as lucky as the girls as they fell to the Shamrocks.
The Mustangs jumped ahead early, going up 10-3 in the first quarter. North Harrison battled back, however, outscoring the Mustangs 11-3 in the second quarter. As the teams headed to the locker rooms at the half, it was still anybody’s contest, with the Shamrocks leading 14-13.
The third quarter proved to be the difference in the game as North Harrison outscored the Mustangs 18-8. The Shamrocks held on to their large lead in the final quarter, winning by 15 points in the end.
The Mustangs had poor shooting to blame for the loss, only shooting 20 percent from the field.
Russell Prescott scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds to pace the Mustangs. Beau Wells also had nine rebounds.
The loss dropped the Mustangs to 0-7 on the season and 0-5 in HDC play.
The Tri-County teams will return to action this week in the Osborn Tournament. The Lady Mustangs’ first game will be Tuesday night at 7 o’clock, when they will face off with the Winston Lady Redbirds.
