Esther Vogel, 85, died unexpectedly on Wednesday Dec. 19, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at the Miller Funeral Home in St. Mary’s, OH. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 and on Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vogel was born in the Moulton area of Auglaize County on June 20, 1922, the daughter of Lewis and Sarah Buddemeyer Wibbeler. She was married in 1941 to Eugene Vogel, who preceded her in death in 1972.
She lived in St. Mary’s until moving to Charlottesville, VA in 1998. For the last year and a half she has been a resident at Morningside Assisted Living in Charlottesville.
She enjoyed working, reading current events and health publications, and sharing recipes and candy treats with others. She was employed in Ohio at Goodyear in St. Mary’s and Teleflex in Van Wert and in Virginia at First Systems and Resources.
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Vornholt (Steve) of Harris and Connie Hegemier (Gary) of Earlysville, VA; six grandchildren, Debbie Klein (Don) of New Bremen, OH, Darlene Bowers (Chris) of Ada, OH, Greg Vornholt (Deana) of Chillicothe, Matt Hegemier (Hallie) Free Union, VA, Tim Hegemier (Suzie) Charlottesville, and Abby Lunn (Sean) Charlottesville; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Vogel (Bill); a brother-in-law, Bernard Kruse (Ruth) both of St. Mary’s; many nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Lee Kaiser.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tami Vogel, in 1981; and three sisters, Selma Settlage, Emma Arnett and Ruth Kruse; and three brothers, Leroy Wibbeler, Henry Wibbeler and Walter Wibbeler.
