Because of the inclement weather, the Trenton R-9 Board of Education moved its meeting to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, taking care of a variety of items during a short session.

Approved were changes to the district polices regarding student discipline and the form for board candidate declaration. Both involved a change in wording to comply with state law. Also approved was the district assessment plan. Maddison Paulsen was granted part-time attendance for the second semester to attend North Central Missouri College.
Superintendent Becky Albrecht presented information concerning the enhanced enterprise zone in Grundy County. She said the district office would be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 for the holidays. The filing dates for the April 8 board election will be Dec. 18 through Jan. 22 during regular hours at the district office. The terms of Tracy Utley, Terry Spillman and Kevin Bailey expire.
The board reviewed written reports concerning the at-risk, guidance and athletic programs. A closed session for the superintendent’s evaluation and summer school supervisor was not held and will take place at the January board meeting as will information being provided by David Harvey from Control Technology Solutions concerning district energy efficiency concerns.
Only four board members were able to attend the meeting, including Mrs. Utley, Spillman, Dorothy Taul and Martha Roberts.
