The Economic Development Committee of the Trenton City Council met this morning at city hall, hearing a report from Community Developer Sean Burge.

Burge reported on the development of a Leadership Trenton program as well as the formation of a board to oversee an enhanced enterprise zone for Grundy County. The board will meet to determine tax abatements as well as establish a date for a public hearing. He said the city is waiting for the Department of Economic Development to send the scope of services agreement to the city so that work can start under the DREAM Initiative Program. He also discussed application procedures to obtain grant funding through FEMA to help with construction of a fine arts center. Upcoming events discussed included Great Northwest Day and World Changers, with more information to be presented at a later date.
Committee members present included Steve Perry, Terry Toms and Chuck Elliott. Kenneth Ewing was absent.
