Keith Junior Torrey, a 69-year-old resident of Stanley, NC, died on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at his home in Stanley.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at the Princeton Cemetery. Pastor Guy Olin Thomas will officiate, under the direction of the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Princeton. The body was cremated under the direction of the Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton, NC.
An open visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home in Princeton.
Mr. Torrey was born on Aug. 11, 1938 in Princeton, the son of Orrin Keith and Leotta May Wilson Torrey. He was raised in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School. He retired as a technical sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service. He was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He spent the reminder of his life working as an electrician for ITT Grinell, Russell Stover, Georgia Pacific and other companies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and NASCAR and spending time with his grandson, Brey.
He was married to Julia Neil Smith. They were divorced in September 1975.
He is survived by two sons, Orrin Mark and his wife, Martha, and Michael Steven and his wife, Karla; one grandson, Brey Michael Torrey; four brothers, Dale Torrey and his wife, Louise, Sam Torrey and his wife, Louise, Fred Torrey and his wife, Edna, and Ricky Torrey and his wife, Teri; two sisters, Chris Marquis and her husband, Jerry, and Darlene Routon and her husband, Darrell; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Torrey; and his former wife, Julia.
