Sgt. Johnny Hines, of Humphreys, was recently promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the Missouri Army National Guard.

He is a member of 548th Transportation Company, located in Trenton, where he is a heavy vehicle driver and squad leader.
Hines has served with the Missouri National Guard for 13 years. He lives in Humphreys with his wife, Wendy, and two children, Jonathan and Veronica. He is the son of Bertha Hines of Milan and the late Carl Hines. He is a graduate of Milan High School.
