The Trenton Middle School seventh grade basketball teams were in action in Brookfield Fri-day night. The two teams split games with Brookfield as the girls team remained undefeated with a 47-25 win while the boys team fell in a close one, 29-27.

The Lady Bulldogs looked impressive in the early going as they jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the first quarter. Trenton put on another good run in the second quarter as they outscored Brookfield 12-4 to take a 25-7 halftime lead.
Trenton coasted through the second half, closing out the game with a win to keep their spotless record intact.
Avery Whitaker and Maddie Hooyman provided the firepower for the Lady Bulldogs, each scoring double-figure point totals. Whitaker led the way with a game-high 19 points and Hooyman added 14 points of her own in a strong showing.
The seventh grade squad advanced to 5-0 on the season with the win.
TMS Boys
The boys squad also jumped out to an early lead in a back-and-forth game. Both teams played evenly for the most part, with Trenton showing the way for the majority of the first three quarters.
Brookfield took the lead back in the fourth quarter and pulled out to a slight advantage. The Bulldogs battled back, but missed a few shots to tie late in the game as they fell by two points.
Austin Taul led the way for the Bulldogs, scoring 17 of the team’s 27 points. Seth Acton was second-high on the team, scoring six.
The seventh grade boys fell to 1-3 on the season with the loss.
Both seventh grade teams, as well as the eighth grade squads, will return to action tonight as they travel to Bethany to face South Harrison. Action kicks off at 4:30 with the seventh grade girls game.
