Trenton and Princeton residents were among those attending the Silver Haired Legislative meeting held Oct. 24-26 in Jefferson City.

Delegates debated and voted on 23 separate proposals during the three-day session, which included individuals from throughout the state. Gov. Matt Blunt opened the session in the House Chamber on Thursday morning, Oct. 25.
At the conclusion of the session, delegates voted on their top five priority bills for presentation to the Missouri General Assembly, which convenes in mid-January. The priorities include: Single Entry Point for Long-Term Care Services Available to all Missouri Seniors; Funding for All Meal Programs through Senior Centers; Pay Day Loans; Increase Personal Needs Allowances in All Care Facilities in Missouri Under Medicare/Medicaid Programs; and Raise the Asset Level for Those on Medicaid.
Attending from northwest Missouri were Sharon Ferris of Trenton, Jennie Vertrees of Tarkio, Dale Faulkner of Tarkio, Francis Turner and Claude Brandon of Savannah, James Crenshaw of Lathrop, Dale and Patricia Midland of Maryville, Martha Rush of Sheridan, Howard Trullinger of Eagleville, Arthur and Helen Zeech of Plattsburg, Joyce Nixon of St. Joseph and Bonnie Stigall of the area agency office in Albany.
