Donald George Broughton, an 80-year-old resident of Princeton, died at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007 at the Sakata Cemetery in Waterville, MN, under the direction of the Prosch-Dennis Funeral Home in Waterville.
An open visitation will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton.
Mr. Broughton was born on Oct. 27, 1927 in Faribault, MN, the son of George Theodore and Leola Gertrude Stavanau Broughton. He lived and worked most of his life in Minnesota, moving to Princeton in 1986. He had been a resident of the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron the past three years.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army, where he spent several months on the front lines in Korea.
He is survived by three sisters, Jan Smith of Grant City, Mark Fieike of Chaska, MN, and Carol Madsen of Elko, NV; four brothers, Neil Broughton of Kellogg, IA, Raymond Broughton of Sharon, KS, Paul Broughton of Redondo Beach, CA, and Calvin Broughton of Canon City, WY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Laura Broughton.
