Princeton snapped a two-game losing skid with an impressive 40-0 win over the Albany Warriors in their district opener Friday night in Albany.

Princeton controlled the game right from the start and took a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter when Morgan Duff scored on a 5-yard touchdown run. The touchdown by Duff was the first of three he would score on the night. Duff finished the game with 193 yards on 20 carries to lead the Tigers.
Princeton used Duff’s second touchdown and a 13-yard pass from Troy Meinke to Ethan Stark in the final minute of the second quarter to take a 21-0 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the break it was all Princeton again as the Tigers found the end zone three more times in the second half. Duff, Chris Parsons and Slade Kenagy all had rushing touchdowns to give Princeton a 40-0 win.
Key in the victory for the Tigers was the defense. Princeton’s defense held Albany to just 92 yards of total offense and also created three turnovers in the contest.
Princeton advanced to 6-2 overall and improved its Grand River Conference record to 5-1. Princeton returns to Class 1, District 9 play next week when the Tigers face off against South Harrison in Bethany.
Following that, Princeton closes out the regular season with a home matchup against Gallatin. Both South Harrison and Gallatin, Princeton’s remaining opponents, were ranked in the Missouri Class 1 polls prior to their matchup Friday night, which South Harrison won. South Harrison was ranked sixth and Gallatin was fourth.
