Judge Jack Peace
City of Trenton vs. Kathy Stratton. A bench trial was set for Oct. 23 at 9 a.m. in the case, which involved the defendant’s conviction on a charge of stealing, which was appealed from municipal court.
Jamey A. Griffin, 26, 923 Normal St., waived formal arraignment and pleaded not guilty to the following charges, with his next court appearance set for Nov. 15: driving to the left side of the roadway within 100 feet of an intersection; operating a motor vehicle on the roadway while his license was revoked; driving while intoxicated (persistent offender); first degree burglary.
Brian King, 42, 1509 Mable St., pleaded guilty to three counts of passing bad checks and had sentencing set for Dec. 13. A total of 14 other charges of passing bad checks were dismissed.
Rex A. Winters, 37, 509 Monroe St., withdrew his plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to possession of chemical with intent to manufacture. Sentencing was set for Nov. 15.
Santana P. Dios, 19, 1802 Carnes St., pleaded guilty to second degree burglary and had sentencing set for Dec. 13.
Ashley M. Kincaid, 24, 1609 Bolser St., pleaded guilty to first degree endangering the welfare of a child and had sentencing set for Dec. 13.
Levi J. Eads, 25, 2702 Hunter Rd., pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated (persistent offender) and was sentenced to serve three years in the Department of Corrections. Execution of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years. He also pleaded guilty to driving while revoked and was sentenced to serve six months in the Grundy County Jail. Execution of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years, with the sentences to run concurrently.
Tony M. Lamb, 19, Wheeling, pleaded guilty to passing bad checks and had sentencing set for Dec. 13. Another charge of passing bad checks was dismissed.
Natalie Cosbey, 20, 1703 E. Fourth St., had her probation revoked on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance and was ordered to serve three years in the Department of Corrections.
Daniel W. Phelps, 44, Chillicothe, pleaded guilty to passing bad checks and was sentenced to serve two years in the Department of Corrections. Execution of the sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years. Three other counts of passing bad checks were dismissed.
Amanda Hines, 27, no address available, had her probation revoked on an original charge of forgery and was sentenced to serve three years in the Department of Corrections.
Paul Damon, 40, Gilman City, was sentenced to serve four years in the Department of Corrections on a charge of stealing, to which he had earlier pleaded guilty. The court retained jurisdiction for 120 days.
Civil Court
Chase Bank USA NA vs. Ethel McCully. The court entered a judgment for the plaintiff confirming an arbitration award.
CACV of Colorado LLC vs. Tammy Pipes. The court approved confirmation and registration of an arbitration award.
Robert Wayne King and Shelda Joy King vs. Helton Insurance Agency, Phillip Lloyd Helton and Merrill Callihan. The case, which was consolidated with the case of Dallas Cox and Barbara Cox vs. Helton Insurance Agency and Phillip Helton, was set for jury trial on April 9, 2008. The case involve life insurance investments.

Judge Steven D. Hudson
Associate Civil
Cleaveland, Macoubrie and Cox vs. Ronda Schroeder. The case, which involved a suit on account, was dismissed.

Shirley A. Graves and others to James D. Bush and wife.
Donald L. Reeter and wife to Joseph Smith and wife.
