Trenton completed a perfect season in dual play, shooting a team score of 113, compared with Brookfield’s 138.
The teams paired up their varsity players into three pairs of two and played a scramble format.
“We celebrated Senior Night and also had a fun time playing two-person scramble,” Coach Ann Constant said.
The tandem of Hadley Jennings and Taylor Cox took the top spot in the dual, shooting a 34, which was one stroke under par. Jennings and Cox scored a team-high three birdies in the event and also had four pars.
In the number two spot, Trenton got a 37 from Molly Holeman and Aaron Smith. Smith and Holeman birdied holes four and eight and added three pars over the course of their round.
Trenton’s third team was comprised of Hannah Barron and Camie Steinhoff. The duo shot a 42 and, like Jennings and Cox, parred four holes in their round.
All three Trenton teams shot scores lower than Brookfield’s lowest score, which was a 43.
Following the dual, Trenton celebrated their seniors in the clubhouse. Cox, Holeman, Steinhoff and manager Emily Schmidt were honored at a ceremony where they were presented golf flags signed by their teammates.
“Molly and Taylor both lettered for three years,” Constant said. “I’ll really miss them. They showed a lot of leadership this year.”
Constant was also pleased to have Steinhoff on the team this season.
“I really enjoyed having Camie come out for us this year,” Constant said. “She really improved a lot over the course of the season.”
The golf team also honored manager Emily Schmidt.
“Emily really helped me a lot this summer and this season,” Constant said. “She played for three years and then did a good job as manager for us.”
The junior varsity was also in scramble action with Brookfield on the night. The JV shot a 149, coming up nine strokes short of Brookfield’s 140.
The varsity golf team will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday as the Lady Bulldogs compete in the Missouri State High School Activities Association Golf Tournament at the Island Green Golf Course in Republic.
