Lions Club Meets On Tuesday

The Trenton Lions Club met at noon on Tuesday at the Lakeview Restaurant with Lannie Harkins in charge of the meeting. Two guests were present, Seth Cox and Dan Wilford.

Following the pledge to the U.S. flag, Dan Wilford led the group in prayer. “Happy Birthday” was sung to Doris Carter. It was announced that a zone meeting will be held in October, hosted by the Galt Lions Club.
Robert Greiner spoke on behalf of the Grundy County Senior Center in regard to their financial situation, seeking ways for the Lions Club to be of assistance to the center. After a lengthy discussion, Greiner was asked to get more information to present to the club and a definite plan could be discussed.
It was voted to donate $250 to the children’s advocacy center and $250 to the Friends of the Arts.
The group was reminded by Wilford that Russell Joiner was presenting a program on World War II at the library.
