Trenton Community Developer Sean Burge met with the commission to discuss the zone, which will include all of Grundy County, with the exception of one census block in Marion Township. The one area had to be excluded from the zone because its boundaries cannot be entire county.
The commission will be making appointments to a seven-member board that will include one representative from the school district, one representative from the other taxing entities and five other members. One person, a Mercer County resident, came to the meeting to express their concern over the enterprise zone.
