Trenton played a much better game than they did in the previous two matches this week and improved greatly, statistically.
“Statistically, we played a lot better game,” Head Coach Taya Ray said. “We still can play better, but we were focused and ready to play after a lack of focus on Monday and Tuesday night.”
The Lady Bulldogs played close with Polo at the start of both games, but as the game went on Trenton faded.
“We played very well, we just couldn’t finish it out,” Ray said. “We play the first 15 points and then we just fall apart. That’s something that the girls know they need to work on and we will be working on it the next couple of weeks in practice.”
Kori Grogan, Sarah Marrs and Brittaney Oxford all had two aces to lead the way for the Lady Bulldogs in the serving game.
Emily Smith led the way at the net. The junior captain had two kills and a team-high three blocks.
Madison Gardner also added two kills and Grogan had two blocks.
There was no junior varsity game due to a lack of players by Polo
The volleyball team will be back in action Monday for a home matchup with the Chillicothe Lady Hornets. JV action kicks off at 5 p.m. with the varsity game to follow.
The Lady Bulldogs will also hold senior night next Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs will host Lathrop in their final home game of the season.
