Brenda M. Pirrillo, 41, Des Moines, IA, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $32.50 and $58.50 costs.
Brian King, 42, 1509 Mable St., waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of passing bad checks and had his case set for trial-setting on Oct. 11.
Dean Gugin, 44, Maryville, pleaded guilty, pursuant to a plea agreement, to passing bad checks. Two other charges were dismissed. He was sentenced to serve 12 days in the Grundy County Jail and was given credit for 12 days served. He is to pay $106.50 costs, $10 to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund and $441.10 restitution to the prosecutor’s office.
Tony M. Lamb, 19, Wheeling, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case set for trial-setting on Oct. 11 on a charge of passing bad checks.
Eric R. Ledbetter, 32, Sunrise Beach, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of having no valid operator’s license (the original charge was operating a motor vehicle on the highway while his license was suspended) and was fined $250 and $106.50 costs and was ordered to pay $10 to the CVCF. He also pleaded guilty to driving to the left side of the roadway when his view was obstructed by a hill or curve and was fined $77.50 and $58.50 costs.
Damon W. Buss, 32, 907 E. Ninth St., pleaded guilty, pursuant to a plea agreement, to driving while intoxicated. Imposition of his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years, with the condition that he pay $106.50 costs, $10 to the CVCF, $78.50 recoupment of funds, complete the SATOP program and donate $300 to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund. He also pleaded guilty to an amended charge of excessive speed (the original charge was careless and imprudent driving by excessive speed) and was fined $92.50 and $58.50 costs.
Jason Miller, 26, 829 McPherson St., pleaded guilty to failing to register a motor vehicle with the Director of Revenue and was fined $27.50 and $58.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and was fined $300 on each charge, plus $106.50 costs and $10 to the CVCF.
Billy J. Ralls, 44, Galt, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner by driving off the road and overturning. He was placed on probation for six months and is to pay $58.50 costs, $300 to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund and complete the Drive to Survive Program.
Julia M. Peterson, 59, Kirksville, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of speeding 64 mph in a 60 zone (the original charge was 75 mph in a 60 zone) and was fined $200 and $58. 50 costs.
Jerry D. Harris, 52, 218 N.W. 52nd Ave., pleaded guilty to an amended charge of speeding 59 mph in a 55 zone (the original charge was 66 in a 55 mph zone) and was fined $200 and $58.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and was fined $300, $106.50 costs, $10 to the CVCF and $97.50 recoupment of funds. He also pleaded guilty to failing to drive on the right side of the roadway when the roadway was of sufficient width and was fined $27.50 and $58.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to failing to yield to an emergency vehicle sounding a siren and displaying red and blue lights and was fined $150 and $58.50 costs. A charge of failing to signal when turning left was dismissed, as was a second charge of failing to drive on the right half of the roadway when the roadway was of sufficient width.
James L. Seaman, 47, Mt. Moriah, pleaded guilty to failing to wear protective headgear when a motorcycle was in motion and was fined $20. He also pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and was sentenced to serve 10 days in jail and pay $194.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana and was fined $300 and $116.50 costs. He pleaded guilty to failing to equip a motorcycle with an approved properly mounted red reflector and was fined $27.50 and $58.50 costs. A charge of operating a motorcycle when his license was not validated for such operation was dismissed.
Associate Civil
Fireside Bank vs. Clay Williams. The court entered a consent judgment in favor of the plaintiff in the amount of $5,589.33, plus interest to accrue at the contract rate. Execution of the judgment was stayed for 90 days. The case involved breach of contract.
