TMS Softball Team Wins

The Trenton Middle School girls softball team played a three-inning contest, taking a 16-1 win over Cameron on Thursday night at Cameron.

The Lady Bulldogs exploded for eight runs in the top of the first inning to put the game away. Avery Whitaker and Katie Halstead both had RBI triples in the first inning and Hailey Brewer scored twice in the first, the second run coming on an inside the park home run. Whitaker followed with a home run in the second as Trenton pounded out 16 hits in the game.
Maddie Hooyman pitched all three innings, allowing one run on no hits while walking five and striking out three. The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-2 on the year and will travel to Marceline on Monday.
Trenton also won the B game, 13-1. Mariah Elliott picked up the win. Maria Stevenson had three hits to lead TMS.
