Kenneth Lee Stark, a 55-year-old Springfield resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007 at St. John’s Regional Health Center in Springfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Lineville, IA. Pastor Jack Stark and Gary Majevec will officiate. The body will be cremated following the service.
An open visitation is under way at the funeral home, where a family visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 o’clock tonight (Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007).
Mr. Stark was born in Mercer County on Oct. 7, 1951, the son of David Franklin and Majorie Marie Nichols Stark.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Richeal “Shelly” Stanford on July 1, 1989. She survives of the home.
Mr. Stark worked most of his life as a rock quarry machine operator and loved deer hunting, fishing, rebuilding lawn mowers with his son, Trevor, and going to church, most recently attending the Good News Full Gospel Church in Springfield. He and Shelly had lived in Springfield for the past three years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Trevor, of the home and Dan Stark and his wife, Angie of Carlisle, IA; a daughter, Connie Jacobs and her husband, Ray of Urbandale, IA; Kellie Cornell of Springfield, who had resided with the family; his father- and mother-in-law, Wilbur Dean and Paula Stanford of Springfield; grandparents-in-law, Wilber and Mary Lou Stanford of Lineville, IA; brother-in-law, Bill Stanford and his wife, Jenny of Bergman, AR; sister-in-law, Cheri Friend and her husband, Austin of Springfield; three brothers, Duane Stark of Lineville, Dorvin Stark and his wife, Lorraine of Galt and Richard Stark and his wife, Pam of Mercer; three sisters, Margaret Leola Foster of Princeton, Myrtle Smith of Jamesport and Wilma McIntosh and her husband, David of Mercer; three grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Robert Junior, Hubert Dean, Johnny Carol, Franklin Eugene and Clifford Dale Stark; and by two infant sisters, Thelma Carline and Mary Elizabeth Stark.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Trevor Stark Education Fund. Contributions may be made to the funeral home at PO Box 316, Princeton, MO 64673.
