Ridgeway came back in the third with two runs to cut the Grundy lead to 5-3. The Owls continued their comeback with another run in the fourth. Going into the fifth, the Panthers were clinging to a 5-4 lead. Ridgeway got four in the fifth and four in the sixth to win going away by a final score of 12-5.
“We had a 5-4 lead going into the fifth,” Coach Les Jackson said. “But the Ridgeway bats came alive in the last two innings.”
The loss dropped Grundy R-5’s record to 3-6 on the season.
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, Sept. 20, when the Newtown-Harris Tigers come to Galt for HDC play. Both the boys and girls teams will be playing. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
