After a scoreless first quarter, the Tigers got on the board first, thanks to a three-yard run by Chris Parsons with 9:20 left in the period. Drew Clubb’s kick made it 7-0.
Maysville attempted to tie the game just minutes later when Trent Best took the ball in from 27 yards out to make it 7-6 in favor of Princeton. The Wolverines could not convert the kick, leaving the Tigers out in front.
Princeton scored two more times before the half, the first coming on a Morgan Duff one-yard run at the 1:19 mark. Then with 16 seconds left, Duff took it in from two yards out. After missing the kick on the first Duff TD, quarterback Troy Meinke found Ethan Stark in the end zone for the two-point conversion. That gave Princeton a 21-6 lead at the half.
Neither team was able to put up any points in the third quarter. The final score of the night came with 3:45 left in the game when Brad Brundage galloped in from 17 yards out. The two-point attempt was no good, giving Princeton a 27-6 victory.
Duff and Brundage led Princeton’s running attack with 59 and 51 yards respectively. As a team, Princeton collected 150 yards on the ground and 216 yards in total offense.
Maysville offensive effort was led by Trent Best, who had just 34 yards on the ground.
The Tigers are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the GRC. The Tigers host Tarkio on Friday at 7 p.m.
