According to the minutes from the meeting, the tax rate was set at 97.61 cents on the $100 assessed valuation. Of that amount, 68.25 will be for the general revenue fund and 29.26 will be for the special street fund.
Frank Golden appeared before the council and requested some streets on property he owns in town be closed. The aldermen agreed to look at the property and make a decision at a later meeting. Mowing was to be done this week around the new water tower and the board approved the wastewater and tax reports.
A closed meeting was set for 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14. The minutes did not state what the meeting was to be about.
The next regular meeting of the aldermen will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1.
