Members learned that the existing system was not adequate for fans on either side of the ballfield and instructed Trenton R-9 Superintendent Becky Albrecht to move ahead with the necessary replacement as quickly as possible.
The foundation board also approved the purchase of benches for the THS tennis cCourts, allocating monies for four benches at an approximate cost of $700-$800 per bench.
Mrs. Albrecht presented a list of completed projects as well as those in progress and discussed proposed projects, including the renovation of C.F. Russell Stadium, which the board voted to support. Other projects discussed included upgrades to the choral/band building, expansion of the THS gym for additional seating and both a wrestling and weight room, parking lot improvements to both Trenton High School and the district office and the need for an alternative school.
The foundation board recently completed its financial commitment to the bleacher replacement project in the THS gymnasium as well as new exterior doors in the gym.
Members also discussed the development of an alumni website and agreed to acquire bonding for the foundation board.
Officers for the foundation were re-elected for the coming year and include Dr. John Holcomb as chairman, Steve Maxey as secretary and Becky Cochran as treasurer. Other members of the board include Joanna Anderson, Charles Hoffman, James Hughes, Marian McCarty and Steve Muff.
