Several area fire departments joined together Saturday to collect money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

A total of $5,237.80 was collected at intersections during a “boot drive” held Saturday. Departments participating in the drive included the Trenton Fire Department, Grundy County Rural Fire Protection District, Spickard Fire and Rescue, Jamesport Fire and Rescue and the Trenton Fire Explorer Post.
