Ruby Winings, a 94-year-old resident of Trenton, died at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, where she had been a resident since Jan. 24, 2001.

Mrs. Winings was born on Dec. 21, 1912 at Assumption, IL, the daughter of Elza Aden and Mary Elzira Campbell Gordon. She was married on Feb. 24, 1933 at Sumner, IL to Charles Jackson Winings, who preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2002. They farmed in the Shelbyville, IL area until moving to a farm south of Trenton in 1955.
She attended the Church of Christ at Trenton and Chillicothe. She was a member of the Farm Club and the Extension Club.
She is survived by a son, Gary Winings and his wife, Deloris, of Trenton; a sister, Lois Uphoff of Shelbyville, IL; a granddaughter, Brenda Muir and her husband, Patrick, of Shawnee, KS; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Colin.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters.
