Mrs. Infranca told about the program for the 2007-2008 season and also discussed art, which she has taught for 35 years. She showed large pictures to illustrate how art ‘talks to you’ through color, size, shapes, texture, geography, people and places. She said it inspires and encourages a classroom gathering of students to share their ideas and thoughts about each painting while demonstrating independence and critical thinking. They recognize geometric shapes, which related to math and science, study of design, graphics and architecture. She said it also encourages students to study the lives of famous artists, recognizing famous paintings and where they are displayed.
During the business meeting, John and Doris Carter reported delivering new mints to places of business since the new price increase. Lannie Harkins presided at the business meeting, with Mrs. Carter leading the group in prayer after the pledge to the U.S. flag was given.
George Moore served as tailtwister.
