The Church Softball Competitive League Tournament came to a close in dramatic fashion Saturday night at the Ebbe Sports Complex.
The Country Christians took home the title, but needed three games with Galt Christian and extra innings in the final game to pull it out.

The Country Christians and Galt Christian squared off in the first game of the evening and battled back and forth all night long. In the end Galt Christian came away with a narrow 13-12 win, sending the Country Christians to the loser’s side of the bracket.
Meanwhile, Hodge beat CFC by a score of 10-8 to advance into a game with the Country Christians to see who would challenge Galt Christian for the title.
The Country Christians were a team on a mission as they put down Hodge’s season with a 8-5 victory.
The Country Christians returned to the winner’s bracket for the first of two possible championship games. The Country Christians delivered with their backs against the wall as they took a slim 6-5 win over Galt Christian to force a second championship game.
With one loss apiece, the Country Christians and Galt Christian battled it out for the title in one final game. The third game of the night between the two was perhaps the best as the teams stood tied at the end of the scheduled distance. The teams went into extra innings before the Country Christians edged ahead for another one run victory over Galt Christian, this time by a score of 10-9. With the win, the Country Christians clinched the tournament championship for the 2007 season.
