Tobias J. Detweiler, a 94-year-old resident of Jamesport, died on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007 at the John Kurtz residence at Jamesport. Burial will be in the Meadowview Cemetery at Jamesport, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home of Bethany.
Family visitation is under way at the Kurtz residence.
Mr. Detweiler was born on Oct. 14, 1912 in Thomas, OK, the son of Joe B. and Lydia Yoder Detweiler.
He was married to Lena Miller, who preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 1993.
Survivors include eight daughters, Lydia (Joe) Gingerich of Jamesport, Anna Mary (Mose) Schrock of Verona, Ida (Atlee) Stutzman of Jamesport, Elizabeth Detweiler of the home, and Magdalena (John) Yoder, Emma (John) Kurtz and Barbara (Joni) Beechy, all of Jamesport, and Ada (Ervin) Yoder, Marion, KY; six sons, Eli (Naomi Gingerich) Detweiler of Jamesport, Joe (Mattie Detweiler) Detweiler of Bloomfield, IA, Freeman (Emma Gingerich) Detweiler of Charlotte, MI, Henry (Sarah Hostetler) Detweiler of Howe, IN, Raymond (Elsie Byler) Detweiler of Lamar and Toby (Amanda Troyer) Detweiler of Macy, IN; 130 grandchildren; 445 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Sarah; and nine grandchildren.
