She earlier announced her intent to play softball for Coach Max Mothersbaugh on the Lady Pirates fastpitch softball team.
Blyth, a 5-9 guard, is a graduate of Oak Park High School, where she was a member of Peer Helpers and FCA.
“She was a big contributor to our success over the past few years in the Lady Oakie basketball program, which includes a district championship her junior year,” said Oak Park Coach Jeff Eversole. “She is a solid ball handler and perimeter shooter with great court sense and the drive to be as good as she possibly can. She set a school record for hitting 86 percent of her free throws her senior year. Not only is she a good athlete, she is a team player and will do what she can to help the team be successful.”
Extracurricular activities in which she participated include the City in Motion Dance Team and teaching catching and hitting to young players. Blyth hopes to one day be a chiropractor and have her own sports clinic.
Blyth joins six other Lady Pirates basketball recruits at NCMC for the 2007-2008 season. They include Whitney Bennett, Toni Brundage, Kedra Dierking, Cassie Hunt, Trisha Ireland and Kari Shiflett.
