Judge Jack Peace
In the case of Jeremy Mathes vs. the Department of Revenue, the case was dismissed with costs being assessed to Mathes. The case involved a temporary restraining order.
A charge of operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent matter, accident involved, was dismissed against Wade Peters, 20, of 2116 E. 28th St. and Logan Epperson, 18, Laredo.
Division II
Judge Steven D. Hudson
Gary G. Hanes, 66, of 2304 Mable St, was found guilty of assault in the third degree by special Judge Jerri Bush. He was given 15 days to file for a new trial, with sentencing to take place if a filing is not made.
Tamara Vanourny, 49, of Mountain Burg, AR, pleaded guilty to excessive speed and was fined $32.50 and $56.50 costs.
Jonathan McAtee, 21 of 350 NW 68th Ave., pleaded guilty to failure to register a vehicle with the Department of Revenue and was fined $27.50 and $32.50 costs.
William F. Hoover, 34, Unionville, had a charge of second degree burglary dismissed.
Annette Dennis, 35, Spickard, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without financial responsibility and was fined $25.50 and $56.50 costs.
Patrick Oyler, 30, of 212 E. Ninth Ct., pleaded guilty to allowing a minor to drink or possess an intoxicating liquor. He was fined $300 and $114.50 costs and was given until Feb. 26, 2008 to pay.
Patrick Baker, 39, Blue Springs, pleaded guilty to exceeding the posted speed limit and was fined $32.50 and $56.50 costs.
Bob Porter, 81, Mercer, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, accident involved, and was fined $37.50 and $56.50 costs.
Mark Templeton, 20, of 201 W. 25th St., pleaded guilty to failure to provide proof of insurance and was fined $27.50 and $56.50 costs.
Cathy Orndorff, 28 of 312 W. 12th St., admitted to violating her probation on a charge of assaulting an officer. She was sentenced to 20 days in jail, given credit for time served and was released from custody.
Jerri Canalini, 40, Bethany, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor passing bad checks and was fined $100, $104.50 costs and $10 to the CVJC and was given until Oct. 9 to pay. The judge also ordered $100 payment to the public defender. The original charge was a felony. Two other felony counts of passing bad checks were dismissed.
Robert Howard, 53, of 448 W. Hwy. 6, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated manner (persistent offender). He was fined $600, $104.50 costs and $10 to CVJC. He was given until Feb. 12, 2008 to pay. Charges of driving while revoked and failure to yield to a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction turning left were dismissed.
Alan Bret Watt, 36, Kansas City, pleaded guilty to DWI. Imposition of sentencing was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was ordered to pay $184.50 and costs in this case as well as $52.50 and $56.50 costs for pleading guilty to exceeding the speed limit, to complete the Drive to Survive program or a similar program within six months, consume no alcoholic beverages and make a $300 payment to the Law Enforcement Restitution fund. He was given until Aug. 28 to pay fines and costs. A charge of operating a vehicle on the highway without a license was dismissed.
Brandy Van Arkel, 30, Des Moines, IA. waived her preliminary hearing and was bound over to Division I for an Aug. 16 hearing on three counts of distribution/delivery/marketing/producing or attempting to or possessing with intent to distribute.
Walter Loghry, 32, Galt, pleaded guilty to an amended misdemeanor charge of non-support. Imposition of sentencing was suspended and he was placed on two year’s probation. He was ordered to pay $104.50 costs and $10 to the CVJC by Aug. 14. His original charge was felony non-support with the amount owed exceeding $5,000.
