The academy is designed to enrich the learning process of young gifted and talented students by challenging them with a college curriculum. The scholars are nominated by their school principal or counselor from among students who will have completed seventh, eighth or ninth grade by June 2007. Students were selected based on their formal application, school transcript and test scores in the top 3 percent on a nationally-normed achievement test.
The academy is split into two three-week sessions and students are offered one three-week class from a list of courses. Fuller participated in computer animation and while on campus lived in Centennial Hall.
Fuller will be a sophomore this fall at Trenton High School. He is the son of Cass and Lisa Fuller of Trenton.
