Charles William Miller, an 86-year-old resident of Gilman City, died on Thursday, July 5, 2007.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 20097 at the United Methodist Church in Gilman City under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home of Bethany. Burial with military rites was in Masonic Cemetery at Gilman City,.
Mr. Miller was born July 21, 1920 on the family farm near Bancroft, the son of Percy A. and Eva A. Barngrover Miller.
He was married on June 21, 1943 to Kathleen Mae Magee, who preceded him in death on April 20, 2000.
He attended school in Gilman City, graduating in 1938, and Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville. He served in the Army Air Corps in 1942.
He was a member and officer of the American Legion Post, a member of Harrison Co. R-4 School Board for 29 years and the Gilman City United Methodist Church, and active in the community.
Survivors include five daughters, Terry Francis and her husband, Bill, of Clarinda, IA, Janet Mailou and her husband, Paul, of Kempner, TX, Ruth Hager and her husband, Randy, of Chillicothe, Louise Bird and her husband, Joe, of Gallatin and Kathy Keithley and her husband, Mark, of Hong Kong; three sons, Kent Miller and his wife, Connie, of Excelsior Spring, Richard Miller of St. Joseph and John Miller and his wife, Debbie, of Bellflower, CA; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Austin and John Russell Miller.
