Blue Jays Lose To Chillicothe

The Trenton Blue Jays were in action at Chillicothe again this weekend for American Legion play. The Blue Jays faced the Cardinals in one nine-inning contest at Shafer Park.
The Blue Jays played close with Chillicothe through three innings, but fell off down the stretch, losing 11-1 in the end.

The Blue Jays started Colton McGinness on the hill and got strong results. McGinness cruised through the Cardinal lineup early on.
The Blue Jays trailed 1-0 in the third inning when McGinness hurt his arm. Chillicothe took full advantage and pulled away for an 11-1 win.
The Blue Jays scored their lone run on an RBI by Chris Parsons.
“Our defense was a lot better,” Head Coach Doug Fairley said. “We really made some strides.”
The loss dropped the Blue Jays’ record to 3-6 on the season.
The Blue Jays will be back in action Friday night at 6:30 for the American Legion Alumni Game at Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton.
The Blue Jays return to regular competition Sunday afternoon for a make-up game with Brookfield. The game will be played in Brookfield at 2 p.m.
