Jeremy D. Brown, 28, Galt, waived his preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to Division I on a charge of statutory rape. Trial-setting was scheduled for July 12.
Miguel Perez, 34, Richardson, TX, pleaded guilty to speeding and was fined $32.50 and $56.50 costs. He also pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and was fined $37.50 and $56.50 costs.
Thomas C. Johnston, 32, 1918 Pleasant Plain, pleaded guilty to having no valid license and was fined $37.50 and $56.50 costs.
Philip B. Burgess, 26, Department of Corrections, pleaded guilty to possessing less than 35 grams of marijuana while operating a motor vehicle and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to serve 40 days on each charge, with the sentences to run concurrently with each other and concurrent with his sentence in the Department of Corrections. Charges of failing to signal when turning right, speeding and not wearing a seat belt were dismissed.
William R. Woodley, 50, Spickard, had a charge of speeding dismissed.
Brandi McDaniel, 23, Stoutland, waived formal arraignment and had his charge bound over to Division I on eight counts of passing bad checks. Trial-setting was scheduled for July 12.
Kandi J. Peterie, 25, Chillicothe, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated (persistent offender) and had imposition of her sentence suspended. She was placed on probation for two years and was ordered to pay $104.50 costs, $10 to the Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund, $78.50 recoupment of funds and $300 to the Grundy County Law Enforcement Fund.
Brian P. Flowers, 24, 1423 Mable St., appeared in court and did not have $114.50 due on a conviction for domestic assault. The amount owed was converted to 11 days in jail, with credit given for three days already served.
Daniel B. Sumpter, 40, 605 Monroe St., pleaded guilty to fishing without a permit and was fined $15.50 and $79.50 costs.
Grady C. Raymo, 43, Spickard, had a charge of third degree assault dismissed.
Melissa D. Miller, 28, 2414 Oklahoma Ave., had a charge of failing to maintain financial responsibility for a vehicle dismissed.
Small Claims
Andy Madden d/b/a Midwest Tire Outlet vs. Mark Garten. The case, which involved non-payment for tires, was dismissed.
Associate Civil
Capital One Bank vs. Reggie Wise. A consent judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiff in the amount of $6,162.40, plus $71 costs and interest to continue at 25.9 percent. Execution of the judgment was stayed as long as monthly payments are made. The case involved a breach of contract.
The New Liberty Hospital vs. Brian K. Whitney. A consent judgment was entered in favor of the plaintiff in the amount of $2,221.06 plus $71 costs and interest to continue at 9 percent. The case involved breach of contract.
