Stoney Bowers and Band To Perform

On Saturday, July 3, Trenton Sesquicentennial will welcome home former Trenton resident Stoney Bowers and his band Saturation Point, formerly Rochelle and Strictly Country.

The band members, along with Bowers, include Rochelle Allwood, Terry Kinnison, Mike Carey and Fino Andrade. The original band started in playing around 1989.
Bowers plays bass, sings lead and harmony vocals, and occasionally picks some flat top guitar. He has been with Saturation Point since of 2001 and prior to playing with this band had never played an electric bass.
Bowers still has ties with Trenton musically, playing mandolin and guitar with the Trenton-based “Sloe Leak” bluegrass band. He started playing guitar in 1977, starting his band career with a bluegrass band in the early 1980’s called “Makin’ Dew” another Trenton band. Bowers lives near Stewartsville and is presently working for the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Ms. Allwood is the lead singer, who prior to becoming one of the founding members sang at several area opry shows through out Missouri. She is from the Maysville area, works for E.O.C. out of St. Joseph and spends her spare time babysitting her grandchildren.
Kinnison is the other founding member of original band. He is the rhythm guitar playing lead and harmony vocalist. Kinnison manages the body shop for Chillicothe Ford and lives in the Jameson area.
Carey has been with a number of area bands prior to becoming Saturation Point’s lead guitar player. He also sings lead and harmony vocals. Carey’s other talents include playing the fiddle, banjo, and bass.
He started playing the guitar around 1973 playing and singing on the opry circuit. Around 1983, Carey played in a number of area bands booking northern Missouri, the first being “Colt 45,” in which he played and sang lead. The Ludlow band of which he was a part, has an album to its’ credit. “Ozark Review” and “Cimarron” were other bands in which he played. Carey joined Kinnison and Ms. Allwood in 1992 and has been with them ever since He lives near Stewartsville and is Bowers’ neighbor.
Andrade is the band’s drummer and has been playing since 1967. He joined the band late in 2002, and is also a lead vocalist. He has played in numerous bands in his career with headliner names like Jimmy Dallas. He has also played with the bands “Colors”, “Coachmen”, “Kansas City Drifters” and “The Hats,” all of the Kansas City area. He resides in Liberty, and presently works for Magellan Pipe Line.
The concert will be held at the Elks Club from 9 to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3. Cost is $10 for single and $15 for couples.
