Doris M. Still, a 91-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, died at 8 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2007 at the nursing home, where she had resided since March 20, 1998.
The body was cremated and memorial service arrangements will be announced later by the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton.
Mrs. Still was born Feb. 13, 1916 at Gallatin, the daughter of Clifford and Cora Bruce Culver. She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1934.
She was married in 1936 to Leonard Still, who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1949.
After her marriage, the couple moved to Trenton, where they owned and operated Still Food Store. After her husband’s death, she continued to operate the store until selling it in 1951. She was later employed at the Plaza Hotel for many years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Trenton.
Mrs. Still is survived by a son, Jim Still and his wife, Carla, of Trenton; three grandchildren, Jeff Still, Jessica Bogart and Amy Spencer; four great-grandchildren, Joycelynn, Zach and Riley Still and Carly Spencer; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Midge Culver of Phoenix, AZ; and several nephews and nieces, including Fred Davis of St. Louis, Tim Culver of Madison, WI, Cindy Frodenburgh of Phoenix and Jane Brinkman of San Francisco, CA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon, Raymond, Ross and infant Corbin Culver.
The family has suggested memorial contributions to the First Christian Church. They may be left at the funeral home.
