The Area Governing Board of Green Hills Community Action Agency met Tuesday night at the central office in Trenton.

Items on the agenda included Personnel and Grundy County Public Housing Agency Committee meetings, board meeting dates survey results, a board orientation agenda, Community Services Block Grant monitoring follow-up, a board needs assessment report, and an Employment & Training program update.
Revised budgets approved included LIHEAP Summer Cooling Assistance increase of $14,695 for direct services and $735 in administrative funds for total cooling payments of $101,905, and Employment & Training Career Assistance Program increases of $15,672.69 for the Career Assistance Program and $15,821.37 for the Youth Program. Requested grant funds as approved included:Housing Preservation Grant program for Livingston County in the amount of $25,000; Victims of Crime Act funds of $118,000 in funding for the domestic violence shelters in Trenton and Chillicothe; Housing Trust Fund/Missouri Association for Community Action funds for emergency services to the homeless of $8,747; FEMA Emergency Food and Shelter program emergency services funds of $37,600, and a Housing Development capacity grant through the Housing Assistance Council of $15,000.
A Grundy County Public Housing Agency public meeting was held prior to the regular board meeting. Chaired by Bud Cox, members approved the Annual Plan and Administrative Plan, approved the minutes of the Oct, 3, 2006 meeting, presented the SEMAP score, and reviewed a part-time Housing Assistance Inspector position description.
Personnel Committee members also met with chairman Kenneth Warren reporting for the committee. The committee presented revised and new job descriptions approved by the full board. Committee members also reviewed the executive director’s training plan and future staffing needs.
A community needs assessment report was given and members approved recommended low bids to purchase 15 8,000-BTU air conditioners from Klinginsmith’s TV & Appliance of Trenton and 20 10,000-BTU air conditioners from Mid-States, LLC of Trenton through LIHEAP Summer ECIP program direct services funds. Approval was also given to purchase up to a total of 50 air conditioners if further needs arise.
