According to commissioners, they met with Sharon Ferris and Russell Joiner, members of the Senior Citizens Tax Committee, who requested a loan in lieu of tax money that is to be collected from a five-cent property tax approved by voters in November. Commissioners declined to approve the loan because they did not know if it would be legal. They noted that the committee will likely seek to borrow the funds from a lending institution.
The commission was also scheduled to meet with the Grundy County Salary Commission this morning.
