Funeral services for Gordon Crawford will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the mortuary.
Mr. Crawford a 78-year-old lifelong resident of Spickard, died at 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at his home in Spickard.
Mr. Crawford was born on March 2, 1929 in Spickard, the son of Vern and Ruth Cooper Crawford. He was married in Spickard on May 27, 1957 to Mary Shuler, who preceded him in death on March 4, 1996. He worked as a mechanic for many years and had been a member of the Spickard Volunteer Fire Department, the saddle club and the Spickard Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Ozella Sparks and her companion, Ron Biswell, of Brook-field and Martha Owen of Spickard; a brother, Gene Crawford and his wife, Janet, of Nixa; four grandchildren, Nancy Glenn and her husband, L.D., of Spickard, Jennifer Graves and her husband, Erin, of Chula, James Owen Jr. and his wife, Tasha, of Trenton and Pvt. David Sparks of Ft. Gordon, GA; and four great-grandchildren, Holly and Ethan Glenn, Haley Graves and Ayden Owen.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers, Leonard, Raymond and Jack Crawford; a sister, Twila Fulton; and a son-in-law, Johnny Sparks.
The family suggests memorials to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
