Fuller is looking for new or used books at the kindergarten through eighth grade levels and is in hopes of collecting at least 1,000 books. The books will then be sent to Mmathethe, Botswana, Africa, where a Peace Corps volunteer will collect, organize and set up the library. Paperback books are suggested as they are easier to send, although hardback books would also be accepted. Books can include children’s picture books, fiction and non-fiction, early readers, children’s dictionaries, children’s encyclopedias, world atlases and textbooks.
Persons can drop off books at containers located at the Rissler Elementary School, the Trenton Middle School or Hy-Vee or they can contact Fuller at 359-4647 to have them picked up. Containers will be at their locations until May 18.
