The City of Trenton, Grundy County, Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce and the North Missouri Solid Waste Management District will hold a large appliance recycling and waste tire collection this Saturday.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the New Hope Center, located at 3300 Pleasant Plain in Trenton. There is a $5 fee per appliance, payable at the drop-off location or at Trenton City Hall. Appliances included are washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dishwashers, cooking stoves and hot water heaters. Participants are reminded that it is illegal to cut refrigerant lines and are asked to move any appliance with refrigerant carefully so as to avoid breaking the coolant lines. Refrigerants will be removed for re-processing by a certified technician.
Up to four passenger tires will be allowed per licensed driver, with a $1 charge per tire for any additional tires. There will be a charge of $4 each for tires in excess of 36 inches and tractors will be $10 each. Waste tires should be off the rims or wheels and should be clean and free of debris.
