The Grundy County Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to allow voters to cast absentee ballots in the special May 1 election in Madison Township.

The special election is being held to elect a member to the Madison Township Board of Trustees. Tammy Burgess and Gayle McCloud tied for the second trustee spot in the April 3 election and voters in that township will go to the polls on May 1 to elect one of the two to the position. Absentee ballots can be voted until 5 p.m. on Monday, April 30. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day at the Edinburg Baptist Church.
