Theodore “Ted” Everett Huffer Jr., a 74-year-old resident of Solon, IA, died Sunday, April 22, 2007 at his home.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday April 25, 2007 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the Chapel. A private family inurnment will be in Sulek Cemetery.
Mr. Huffer was born Aug. 3, 1932 in Trenton, the son of Theodore and Jessie Mae Nolan Huffer Sr. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was discharged as a sergeant. He married Darlene Cornwell on Feb. 26, 1955 in Trenton. He worked for over 43 years at Penford until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of the American Federation of Grain Millers Local 100 and was the union president from 1980-1990. He was a very avid bowler and pinochle card player. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and listening to country music.
He is survived by his children Everett (Lisa) Huffer and Sharon Huffer, all of Cedar Rapids, Garry Huffer of Solon, and Dennis (Shelly) Huffer of Alburnett, IA; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife, who died Dec. 16, 2000.
